Clay Gravesand and AD Smith: Breakup
Mr. Clay expressed hesitation about marriage because of his own thoughts about his father’s infidelity, but Mr. AD reassured him that they would do well as a couple and that everything seemed to be going well between them.
However, when faced with the challenge of saying yes for good in front of the altar, Clay said he would not do so, telling AD that it is not a “responsibility” to get married when you are not ready.
Shock.
“I’m going to work for you,” he told AD, “and we’re going to get through this together. I don’t care what anyone says. I know full well that I’m not ready for marriage, and you deserve the best. And if I’m not ready to give you 100 percent, when I’m not ready, I won’t go with you…I can’t say yes right now.”
It was a revelation that led AD to tearfully declare that the relationship was a waste of her “fucking time.”
As for Clay, he also revealed that financial and emotional ties were a major factor in their separation. “I looked in the mirror and thought, ‘Am I my husband?’ And the answer was no. Am I deeply in love? The answer was no,” he admitted.
During the reunion, Clay expressed that he had made a mistake and wanted to date AD, but she was hesitant about whether she would consider getting back together.
AD confessed that they are not dating, although she went on a few dates with her co-star Matthew Duriva after filming ended.
She announced in May 2025 that she was pregnant with her first child with fiancé Olly Sutherland.
