“With him not being here, I think it was just a matter of showing that we’re united with him and Kayla at this point,” the rookie relief pitcher, who is also Alex’s daily catch partner, told The Athletic. “It’s just the little things we can do to show him that we care about him and are thinking about him.”
He added: “We could use him here, but at the end of the day we are a family and we will support him as much as we can.”
Alex has not made any comments since the team confirmed his long-term absence on Oct. 23, but the 29-year-old has been removed from the World Series squad, which is scheduled to resume with Game 5 on Oct. 29.
Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman told reporters on Oct. 24 about the decision to remove the Dodgers from the roster, saying, “We didn’t want to potentially put any pressure on them.” “This is much bigger than baseball. For us, it was about doing whatever we could to support 100%.”
As the Dodgers stood on the field thinking of their absent teammates, fans also came out to cheer them on. Keep reading to see the stars who played in the 2025 World Series…
