Don’t get Shania Twain wrong. She thinks Brad Pitt is okay.
In fact, the country music superstar admits there is no bad blood between her and the Oscar winner, more than 20 years after she name-dropped him in That Don’t Impress Me.
“We’ve never met,” the 60-year-old said in an Oct. 26 interview on the Wood & Woody radio show. “I mean, there’s a lot of Hollywood celebrities I’ve never met. But I’m sure he’s impressed by it, you know?”
In a single released in 1997, Shania listed the factors that made her not interested in men, before mentioning the F1 star’s name.
“So, are you Brad Pitt?” she sings. “That doesn’t leave much of an impression on me.”
Shania explained how the Hollywood heartthrob’s name came to her mind while writing the single while Playgirl was in the midst of acquiring nude photos of the actor at the time.
“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, the whole world is obsessed with Brad Pitt right now,'” Shania said. “His nude photos came out and everyone was so excited about it, and I thought, ‘Well, if there’s someone I can impress…’ That’s why I chose him.”
