And that’s what you missed about Matthew Morrison and Renee Morrison’s marriage.
The couple, who married in Hawaii in 2014 and now have son Rebel, 7, and daughter Phoenix, 4, made an unexpected confession about their relationship on their 11th wedding anniversary. Renee, 42, said that despite her picture-perfect life with her family, she once came close to ending her marriage.
“11 years,” Renee wrote in a joint post with the Glee star, 46, on Oct. 19, along with a video consisting of snapshots of their life together. “Sacred numbers. Sacred love.”
“This reel follows the timeline of our journey,” she continued. “It began with magic, wild adventure, and innocence…rooted in dedication and tested by storms we never imagined we would face.”
The entrepreneur went on to say that the last few years of their marriage have been difficult for unstated reasons.
“The past three years have been a challenge that shook the very fabric of our marriage,” she wrote. “We stood on the threshold of separation, staring into the unknown with broken hearts and unanswered questions. There were also death-like moments. There was so much sadness, confusion, and pain that we didn’t know how to proceed in our romantic partnership.”
