Not only is Cardi preparing to welcome a newborn, she also recently released a new album, Am I the Drama?, her first since her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy. One of the tracks is called “Safe,” and she says that’s exactly what Stefon makes her feel.
“It’s very safe,” Cardi told Gayle King on CBS Morning. “In both senses, physically, I mean, you can see how big he is. He makes me feel secure, very confident, very strong.”
And although she said her upcoming tour is called Little Miss Drama and will begin in February after the baby is born, Cardi isn’t looking for drama when it comes to her relationships.
“At one point he said, ‘Let me fix you,'” she added. “‘Please give me a chance to heal you.'”
Cardi had to tackle a complicated situation head-on. In December, model Eileen Lopera filed a lawsuit accusing Stefon of fathering her baby girl, whom she gave birth to in April, according to court documents obtained by People magazine. According to documents obtained by the outlet, the athlete disputed the allegations and requested genetic testing to determine parentage.
As for Cardi, she declined to say how she feels about the allegations.
“Hello, Barbara. I’m Shirley,” she said in the Sept. 20 video, referring to the lyrics of the Shirley Brown song “Woman to Woman,” in which a woman calls her male mistress. “That’s your baby daddy, dude? That’s my baby daddy too. Now, guess what? I have no idea. We’ll figure it out, dude.”
