Judges Greg and Linda Mathis reveal details of settlement, one year after filing for divorce
For Allen Iverson and wife Tawana Turner, rekindling their love was the answer.
The former NBA star revealed that he and Tawana are back together more than 10 years after their divorce in 2013, and how his longtime love took time to get married, which ended up being a big turning point for him.
“At no fault of my own, Tawana divorced me at a time when I knew I had hit rock bottom and was undergoing some deep self-evaluation,” Allen told Stephen A. Smith on First Take on Oct. 8. “So, my No. 1. Obviously, we’ve been together for 35 years. When you’ve been trying so hard that long, it takes a long time for you to want to break up. And then we realized it later, after we got back.”
Tawana, who has children Tiaura (30), Allen II (27), Isaiah (22), Messiah (20) and Dream (17) with Allen, originally filed for dissolution of their marriage in 2010, but withdrew the application. But the following year, the 50-year-old, who married Allen in 2001 after falling in love with her in high school, filed suit again, and their divorce was finalized in 2013.
