Prosecutors say D4vd then drove to Santa Barbara County to “dispose of property and destroy evidence.” Briefs say the “Romantic Homicide” singer texted Rivas-Hernandez asking her whereabouts around 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. that night and after she returned home on the morning of April 24, 2025, but prosecutors claim she was already dead and the messages were part of his “premeditated plan to cover up the murder.”
Using a false name, D4vd allegedly ordered a shovel on April 24, 2025, followed by two chainsaws and “a body bag, heavy-duty laundry bag, and a blue inflatable pool” on May 1, 2025, according to the brief. Additionally, prosecutors allege he made two additional visits to Santa Barbara County in late May and ordered a “cage burn” on July 7, 2025, to “incinerate the evidence.”
“Additionally, the defendant took the horrific step of destroying and disposing of the victim’s body,” the brief continues. “After placing her body in a blue inflatable pool to prevent blood from spilling onto the garage floor, the defendant used a chainsaw and possibly other tools to amputate her limbs.”
Furthermore, the prosecution claimed that D4vd “cut off the ring finger and little finger of her left hand because her ring finger had his name tattooed on it,” pointing out that the location of the fingers had not been determined.
“Defendant then placed her head and torso in a purchased body bag,” the brief states. “The defendant placed her limbs in a garbage bag, placed it in his front trunk, and placed a body bag over it. For weeks, and possibly months, the defendant left the victim’s body to rot inside his Tesla.”
