They were 13 years old at the time. “We became boyfriend and girlfriend the day we met,” Miley revealed to Seventeen in 2008. “He wanted to meet me and was like, ‘I think you’re beautiful and I really like you.’ And I thought, ‘Oh my God, I really like you.’ ”
After secretly dating, the couple broke up and Miley admitted she “cried for a month” after the breakup. “Nick and I loved each other,” she told Seventeen. “We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years, he was basically 24/7 to me.”
In 2025, Miley spoke out about her former lovers’ position.
“I love Nick and I’m crazy about him,” she said on the Every Single Album podcast. “We’re all moving on. All’s well in the world.”
