Whitney Leavitt will be dancing to her own songs.
In the recently released Season 3 of The Mormons, tensions between Whitney and other members of the MomTok group, including Dancing with the Stars star Jen Affleck, escalate when Whitney is accused of returning to the film industry just to compete in the ABC dance competition.
That’s an assumption Whitney would gladly admit.
“After last season, I decided to step away from the show, but I never left MomTok,” she said in Confessions of Mormon Wives. “I was always on MomTok and still part of that group. I really needed a break, and then I heard from my team that they were going to cast someone from The Secret of Mrs. Mormon on Dancing with the Stars. That motivated me to come back for that.”
The 32-year-old explained that her reluctance to return was because she didn’t feel she would be accepted back into the group, which also included Jen and co-stars Taylor Frankie Paul and Jesse Ghatikaula. And in fact, when the group hung out for her birthday earlier in the season, Whitney admitted she felt like she was greeted with “hostility.”
