It’s the most compact show of awards season, with just 15 categories (two for motion picture and TV stunt work are handed out off-camera), and while both leading and supporting roles are nominated in the same TV drama, comedy, and limited series/TV movie categories, the actors also tend to be favorites for acting.
One Battle After Another leads the way with seven nominations, including Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, individual awards for Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infinity, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro, and Best Action Performance by a Motion Picture Stunt Ensemble.
“Sinners” received five nominations, including Best Cast and Best Stunt Ensemble, with Michael B. Jordan, Myles Caton, and Wunmi Mosaku also receiving nominations.
On the TV/streaming side, The Studio led all participants with nominations for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Individual Performance for Seth Rogen, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn and the late Catherine O’Hara.
Meanwhile, “The White Lotus” received four nominations for Walton Goggins, Parker Posey, Amy Lou Wood and overall drama ensemble, while “Adolescence” similarly received nominations in the TV movie/limited series category for Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, Erin Doherty and Christine Tremarco.
