And while appearing on DWTS certainly helped her break onto Broadway, what Whitney most treasures about her time on the show were the relationships she formed.
“You can develop real friendships and real connections with these people,” Whitney said in an Instagram video on Nov. 20 about her experience. “I learn so much about myself and the people who constantly lift me up, and I challenge myself. I feel so loved.”
Although she didn’t take home the mirror ball trophy, the mother of three always had her eyes on the prize. In fact, she admitted during Season 3 of SLOMW that she only returned to the popular Hulu series to earn a spot in the ballroom, despite her recurring drama with fellow MomTokers.
“After last season, I decided to step away from the show, but I never quit MomTok,” she said in a confessional interview. “I was always on MomTok and still part of that group. I really needed a break, and then my team told me that the cast of ‘The Secret of Mrs. Mormon’ was being cast on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ That motivated me to come back.”
