Where is Susan Lorincz now?
Lorincz maintained his innocence at trial, but was found guilty of manslaughter on August 16, 2024, and sentenced to 25 years in prison on November 25.
“I think the shooting was completely unnecessary,” Marion County Circuit Court Judge Robert Hodges said in court. “In this case, Mr. Lorincz was behind the door. The door was locked.”
Lorintz is currently serving his sentence at the Homestead Correctional Facility in Florida City, with a release date set for April 8, 2048, according to the Florida Department of Corrections.
“I am truly sorry for taking AJ’s life,” Lorincz said at the sentencing hearing. “I never intended to kill her. I’m just so sad. I think you feel for the loss of your family, not only your mother, but your daughter and sister.”
She claimed that she feared for her life that night, telling ABC affiliate WCJB from prison in September 2025, “I didn’t even see the moment of the shooting. I was really scared. I remember shaking and crying. It was the worst.”
When asked if there was a possibility of manslaughter, he answered “no.”
“I feel sick about what happened,” Lorincz said. “Never in a million years would I have imagined something like this would happen. It’s heartbreaking…I wish things could have been different.”
