Marriage period: 3 months before filing for divorce
He and She Said: It turns out these two love to travel and didn’t want to take a midnight train to go anywhere. After sharing plans to move to South Carolina, Jersey Girl Teresa and Indiana-based Jerry revealed they were divorcing in April 2024 after they couldn’t agree on a home base and were divorcing three months after their televised wedding.
As Jerry explained on Good Morning America, “We look at this situation and feel it’s best for our respective well-being to live apart.”
Theresa agrees: “We never got to the point where we made that decision.”
However, she later confessed that this was not the only factor.
“It’s not just a matter of location,” she said on a November 2024 episode of the podcast “Almost Famous.” “You can’t get to know a person in four weeks. I’ll tell you this.”
In November 2025, Jerry detailed a long list of incompatibilities and shared more in his memoir, Golden Years. Turner said they didn’t agree on everything from food to how to spend money, but their biggest struggle was that Teresa backed away from her retirement plans because she wanted another year to nest.
“I was a little upset because her financial situation was completely different than what she had described on the show,” Jerry wrote, “and wondered what else I had misunderstood or misrepresented.”
