“First of all, he was endlessly attractive and he kept making me laugh,” Bell said. “I had a lot of fear when we first started dating because he had a very wild past. And the difference between an addict and someone who enjoys drugs and alcohol is that the moment any one of them enters their system, they no longer have the ability to make the decision right.
“If he’s taking a sip of a beer, there’s another person behind the wheels of his brain,” she continued. “So I didn’t necessarily understand that, but he talked about (all kinds of things, including drugs and alcohol) and he said he was having fun talking about a cool dinner with his parents.
