We had a lot to talk about on last night’s red carpet. From dramatic feathered looks to effortlessly glamorous last-minute dresses, the stars (and their stylists) really stepped up for last Sunday’s music awards.
We’re sure these celebrity-purveyed styles will be on-trend for the rest of 2026. Each award ceremony red carpet has its own, often unspoken, dress code. In this work, the style was glam drama.
The biggest trend I wore last night was definitely feathers. This style is seen on Lady Gaga, Olivia Dean, Kesha, Tate McRae, Tyra, and more. They wore large, dramatic dresses with large, dramatic feathers all over for maximum eye-catching effect, or with cropped hems for a more delicate look.
Barely revealing dresses and plunging necklines were another trend from last night’s musical red carpet. This look came in all shapes and sizes, but mostly what the celebs wore were creamy shades that matched the singer’s skin tone, see-through flowing fabrics held together with delicate straps, and skin, skin, and skin. Celebrities rocking this style include Sabrina Carpenter, Chapel Lawn, Kehlani, FKA Twigs, Michelle Williams, and Karol G.
The star was also seen incorporating gothic accents into her look, reminiscent of the upcoming Wuthering Heights movie. Whether it’s Bad Bunny’s tuxedo with corset detail or the black high-neck lace dress with matching gloves worn by Maria Zardoya of The Marias.
