Separately, Alphabet posted revenue of $119.8 billion in the second quarter, beating expectations of $116.93 billion, according to LSEG. Management attributed the performance to slower growth in Parts Rollins’ residential pest control business. QuantumScape – The battery maker’s stock fell 3% after the company posted a loss of 16 cents per share in its latest quarter, narrower than the 18 cents per share loss that analysts had expected, according to FactSet. The company reaffirmed its guidance for a full-year adjusted loss of $250 million to $275 million before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, compared to the FactSet consensus estimate for a loss of $256 million. IBM — IBM stock rose about 2% despite reporting quarterly results that fell short of consensus estimates. The technology vendor issued an earnings warning last week. Adjusted earnings were $2.93 per share, 4 cents per share below consensus estimates, LSEG said. Revenue was $17.16 billion, slightly below expectations of $17.58 billion.
