This is as Spirit Airlines on Friday stopped about 40 routes on staff, completed a 25% reduction in its November schedule, reduced bankruptcy costs and rushed to focus on profitable flights.

“The news has been tough, but I believe clarity will help us move forward as a team,” Spirit’s chief commercial officer, Lana Ghosh, in a note to employees seen by CNBC.

Earlier this week, the spirit said it plans to abandon about a third of its flight attendant members, which is about a third of its approximately 1,800 flight attendants.

Spirit filed for Chapter 2 Bankruptcy Protection for a second time within a year, due to higher costs and lower travel demand.

Spirit did not immediately comment on the route it was being cut off, but Gosch said in his note that Spirit will halt services in Hartford, Connecticut and Minneapolis.

He also said that Spirit hired Andrea Russo. Amazon Airthe air transport division of online retailers. Lusso will serve as vice president of network planning. His predecessor, John Kirby, retired in the industry more than 40 years last month.
