Prince Harry is truly sorry.
The Duke of Sussex has issued a heartfelt apology after receiving criticism for wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap to represent the Toronto Blue Jays while attending Game 3 of the 2025 World Series with his wife, Duchess Meghan.
As Prince Harry told CTV News in an interview published on Nov. 6, “I want to apologize to Canada for wearing this.”
However, the 41-year-old pointed out that his attire choice was outside of his control, considering he attended the Oct. 28 game with LA native Meghan and Dodgers majority owner Mark Walter.
“I was being blackmailed,” Harry said jokingly. “I didn’t really have much of a choice. I was invited into the Los Angeles Dodgers’ box, or dugout, by the owner himself, so I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do.”
And while Spare’s author also had personal reasons for rooting for the United States over Canada, some critics argued that he should have supported Canada because it is part of the Commonwealth alongside his home country, the United Kingdom.
“Another reason was that I was losing a lot of hair on the top of my head and when I was sitting under a floodlight, I would wear any hat I could get my hands on,” he confessed.
