Miley Cyrus shouts out father Billy Ray Cyrus while absent from Walk of Fame ceremony
Miley Cyrus gives flowers to her father.
When she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 22, the Hannah Montana star received support from her mother Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, fiancé Max Molland, and more who all gathered for the star-studded ceremony. And although Miley’s father Billy Ray Cyrus was conspicuously absent from the big day, she still gave him a touching shout-out in a speech.
“I always say a skyscraper starts with a jackhammer,” Miley joked to the crowd, which included her friends Anya Taylor-Joy and Donatella Versace. “Same thing goes for stars on the Walk of Fame, by the way.” “And it’s not a question of power, it’s a question of repetition.”
“What’s special to me about this star is that it’s a dedication,” Miley said.
Miley and Billy Ray had a falling out in recent years, with the “Party in the USA” singer revealing on the Reclaiming podcast in 2025 that “at one point half of us weren’t talking to each other,” but Miley waved the “white flag” and got everyone back together last year.
