Pamela Warner recalls the final moments of her son Malcolm Jamal Warner.
The Cosby Show star’s mom recently shared details surrounding his tragic death at the 54-year-old in July after a random drowning.
“They were in the water. I think they were deep in their chests, perhaps even lower in their hips,” Pamela recalled to Robin Roberts in an interview with Good Morning America on September 16th. “And my son was not an experienced swimmer.
“He was with another gentleman,” she said. “But he was a more experienced swimmer and he was able to save himself. But Malcolm wasn’t.”
At the time of Malcolm’s death, it was speculated that he was in the water with his 8-year-old daughter. According to his mother, it was not, but sadly, his daughter witnessed a father’s emergency.
“She was on the beach,” Pamela said. “She wasn’t in the water. The kids handled things differently. She sees him trying to revive him and knows it’s terrible, grossly traumatic. She loved her father so deeply and worshipped her dad.”
