By the time Maci Neely appeared on The Secret Life of a Mormon Wife, she had already faced some of the most difficult chapters of her life, including the death of her boyfriend, Aric Mack.
As Hulu Star shared in her memoir, released Oct. 7, Arik was killed in a car accident in March 2015 at the age of 19. At the time of the crash, Aric was texting Macy, who was 14 weeks pregnant with their son, Hudson.
“The day my boyfriend died, he texts me to say he’s sorry,” Maci told you. “He loves me. He will never let him hurt me while I’m pregnant with his baby. Aric’s text ends with a typo.
Hours later, while scrolling through Instagram, she learned of Arik’s death. According to a March 2015 article published by local Utah outlet KSL, a Honda element “Crossed The Center Divider” Highway Patrol hit head-on heading west. Aric died at the scene.
This tragedy was one of the most difficult topics for Maci to write about in her memoir.
“I still have that sadness,” she told E! News in an exclusive interview “And that’s a part of me whether I write it or not.”
