Kelly Clarkson is leaving the talk show.
In fact, NBC’s “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is set to end after its seventh season, according to the “Breakaway” singer.
Kelly said in a statement on Feb. 2: “I have been so fortunate to have worked with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many great moments and shows over the past seven seasons. We are forever grateful and honored to have worked with all the talented and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and NBC, who has always shown us this.” A great and supportive partner. ”
She added that while it was “not an easy decision” to part ways, she ultimately chose to step away to focus on her children River, 11, and Remington, nine, with her late ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
“Taking a break from our daily schedules allows us to prioritize our kids, which feels necessary and right for the next chapter of our lives,” Kelly explained, teasing that her hosting duties may not be completely done yet. “This isn’t goodbye. I’m still going to make music and play shows here and there, and you might see me on The Voice from time to time.”
