Welcome Jessica Simpson’s ex Eric Johnson over for the holidays.
Nearly a year after the former couple announced their separation, the “Irresistible” singer revealed that her estranged husband was among those in attendance at a family Thanksgiving party at the home of her mother, Tina Ann Drew.
“I’m the father of my children. Family comes first,” Jessica said in an interview published by TMZ on Nov. 28.
The 45-year-old, who also shares children Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, 6, with the former NFL star, also shared her advice for other parents who are separating over the holidays.
“No matter what, your child is half a stranger,” she said. “Always be respectful of what is said around (your children) and make sure they always have a good perspective.”
Jessica added, “Unconditional love is important.”
The Dukes of Hazzard actress certainly focuses on practicing what she preaches. After all, she and Eric previously reunited to watch sister Ashlee Simpson’s I Am Me residency in Las Vegas in August, explaining that it made sense for them to hang out together.
