“Survivor’s Jeff Probst teases why Season 49 was “Antithesis of Loyalty.”
Survivor’s latest castaways are passionate about outwit, outplay and outlast at any cost.
With season 49 of the CBS Competition Series officially underway, longtime host Jeff Probst has made it clear that there is no problem for contestants to turn their backs on the allies they envision to secure a million dollar prize.
“The second half of the game was an antithesis of loyalty and deep bond,” he said in an interview with a Hollywood reporter published on September 24th. And it was a really fun season as the first half was really difficult. ”
In fact, Jeff, 63, pointed out that gameplay at the start of the season often left him “breathless” especially as the cast formed a deep bond.
“The first half of the game was like a tattoo in that these alliances (it) were formed, and people said, ‘I’ll never betray you for the rest of my life with them,'” he explained. “And then the merge hits and the back half of the game said, “Wait a minute, this turned out to be a temporary tattoo. It’s very easy to wash this off right now.”
