On the Oct. 23 episode of David Space and Dana Carvey’s Fly on the Wall podcast, Ira gave an update on her dating life, noting that she was married to Sacha Baron Cohen for 23 years and “just separated and divorced” after announcing their marriage last year.
As a follow-up question, Dana asked Ira what it’s like for a friend like Nicole (who is from Australia, like the Wedding Crashers star) to be “going through something.”
“I’m really, really, really shocked,” said the 49-year-old, who has three children with Sasha. “I left a message and haven’t been connected yet, but I don’t really want to comment on that because there are kids involved.”
In fact, Nicole filed for divorce from Keith on September 30, one day after news broke that the pair, who share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, had been living separately since the beginning of the summer. Amid news of their breakup, the Oscar winner recently opened up about overcoming the obstacles she faced in her life.
