The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced Wednesday that the January employment report will be released next week after being delayed due to the brief government shutdown.

The report, which is currently in the spotlight, is scheduled to be released on February 11, five days later than the original release date, according to the revised schedule.

In addition, the BLS is scheduled to release its Recruitment and Turnover Survey on Thursday, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday.

There are other delays as well.

The consumer price index for January is currently released on February 13, two days later than the original release date. A companion release that calculates real revenue will be affected by similar delays.

Economists surveyed by Dow Jones expect the nonfarm payrolls report to increase by 60,000 jobs in December, following an increase of 50,000 in December. The report is also expected to show the unemployment rate holding steady at 4.4%.

Earlier Wednesday, payroll company ADP reported that companies added just 22,000 jobs in January.
