Emma Heming Willis talks about how family ‘adapts’ to holidays amid Bruce Willis’ battle with dementia
Emma Heming Willis has lost her life partner.
Three years after Bruce Willis battled frontotemporal dementia (FTD), his wife looks back on the early stages of their relationship, specifically a trip to Los Angeles’ Magic Mountain amusement park 17 years ago, and misses what their family had.
After going to Six Flags Park with Bruce’s daughters, Mabel Ray Willis, 13, and Evelyn Penn Willis, 11, Emma was reminded of how the famous Viper ride was “so much more fun than it used to be,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Dec. 21. “But the last time I rode it was with Bruce in 2008. It was fun.”
And in fact, an Instagram video showed Emma and Bruce riding a roller coaster nearly 20 years ago, with the Die Hard actor laughing and screaming at the ride’s twists and turns. Among his many reactions were comments such as “Oh, the love of Christ” when the two approached a particularly big plunge, and “I’m a little wet” after passing through a corkscrew.
