Dancing with the Stars’ Elaine Hendricks talks about hospitalization and absence from Halloween episode
Elaine Hendricks isn’t ready to take her final bow.
Elaine shared an update on her health from her doctor after the Parent Trap star was sidelined from the Oct. 28 episode of Dancing with the Stars due to a rib injury and ended up broadcasting her final rehearsal with partner Alan Bersten instead of a live performance.
“They can’t tell exactly if I pulled a muscle or if I’m just nervous,” she said in a pre-performance video package during the Nov. 4 episode. “I’m doing everything I can to heal, including taking a few days off from dancing, but it’s stressing me out.”
However, despite the injury, doctors cleared the 54-year-old to return to the dance floor.
“I’m so grateful to be able to continue,” she continued. “I Expect to feel pain. I don’t care. “
In fact, Elaine danced a powerful Viennese waltz with Alan to Dionne Warwick’s “What the World Needs Now” in honor of the episode’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame theme. The performance ultimately received rave reviews, receiving a total of 37 points from judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and guest judge Flavor Fluff.
“I’m getting so much love and support right now,” Elaine told host Julianne Hough after her performance. “I’m so grateful and I really appreciate everyone.”
She concluded: ”I feel so grounded and strong and I am grateful. ”
Elaine previously admitted to fans that she was “okay” after missing Season 34’s Halloween special episode.
