Details have emerged about how Kyle Busch battled his health in the final weeks before his unexpected death.
A 41-year-old man who was found unconscious inside a racing simulator and hospitalized in North Carolina was dealing with ongoing health concerns and ultimately died on May 21, multiple sources told The Associated Press.
According to a death certificate obtained by Us Weekly, Bush suffered a “sequence of events” over the past few days and weeks that began with pneumonia and eventually progressed to sepsis in the last 24 hours.
A severe immune system reaction caused blood clots that affected Bush’s internal organs, a condition the coroner called an intravascular clot. The death certificate said he was followed by hemorrhagic shock caused by severe bleeding, according to the University of Utah.
Details about Bush’s health were based on previous statements released by his family, including his wife, Samantha Bush, and their children, Brexton, 11, and Lennix, 4, confirming the cause of his death.
