“It’s not good for him to reveal details,” she said in a January 2025 Parade interview. “I loved him at one point in my life, and I don’t want to hurt him. Plus, I’m at a different place in my life where I don’t have to let go of cooking. My breakup with Jo Koy brought a mature ending to a relationship I was in for the first time. My actions were adult and graceful. I respected the relationship by never revealing what really happened, and I liked that version of myself.”
In fact, Chelsea added, “I don’t think I’ve spoken to Jo Koy once since we broke up.”
This isn’t the only change she’s made recently.
“I want people to be happy and prosperous and kind to each other,” she explained in a less caustic but no less funny way on her friend Scott Evan’s Houseguest YouTube series in December.
“I had to change my whole personality to become that person,” she gushed to her fans. “I did it, so you can too.”
She explained that she’s gotten nicer as she’s gotten older, but “I wouldn’t say it’s gotten softer. It’s just nicer and more sophisticated.”
It helps that she doesn’t get angry as much these days.
“My life is exactly what I wanted it to be. It’s more than I could have hoped for,” she told Parade. “I had no idea what the possibilities were, how I could feel so free and live a life like this.”
As she prepares to host Critics’ Choice, take a look back at the show’s best red carpet looks of all time.
