microsoft is in talks to supply custom artificial intelligence chips to Anthropic, CNBC confirmed Thursday.
The partnership would represent a win for Microsoft, which has lagged behind its cloud rivals. Amazon and google If you provide special purpose AI silicon to your clients. This year, the company’s Claude Assistant and Claude Code tools for AI-assisted programming have grown in popularity, making Anthropic’s need for computing power even more acute.
On Wednesday, SpaceX said it would pay Anthropic $1.25 billion a month for computing power through May 2029.
