Ultrasound confirmed pregnancy loss.
“Yeah, there’s no heartbeat. I couldn’t say ‘Because I’m not there,” Kylie said. “They immediately took me to the ultrasound room and did vaginal ultrasound. They confirmed that they had no heartbeat and estimated the baby had stopped developing. I think it was nine weeks and ten weeks.”
“I called mom and told her that Jason couldn’t tell because it was his birthday,” she shared, adding, “I did that. It was very difficult for both of us.”
Kylie scheduled the D&E (expansion and evacuation) procedure two days later. And every pregnancies she had since her miscarriage have been contaminated by the fear of history repeating itself.
“In Wyatt’s case, I didn’t share that I was pregnant until I was pregnant in 20 weeks,” Kylie explained. We focus on the period in which pregnancy is considered feasible. “I Googled almost every week and there was a chance that my baby could survive. It sounds really dark. I literally did it for Finn.”
