Pakistan will face Bangladesh on Thursday ahead of the Sunday final of the 2025 Asian Cup, where India awaits.

Pakistani pace bowler and former captain Shaheen Shah Afridi say his team is ready to give him a “full effort” to lift the 2025 Asian Cup in a potentially appetizing rematch with India in the prospects in the final on Sunday.
Pakistan survived a wobble against Sri Lanka in its second match at Super Four Stage and maintained its campaign on Tuesday with a five-wicket victory in Abu Dhabi.

India, who will face Sri Lanka on Friday in the Final Super Four match, has secured its final position in the game at the current stage, beating Bangladesh with 41 runs in Dubai on Wednesday.
Pakistan and Bangladesh will compete against what is effectively the eliminator on Thursday ahead of the final.
India and Pakistan met twice in the edition of the regional tournament, but their neighbors never met each other in the Asian Cup final.
This regional tournament was played in the United Arab Emirates in the Twenty20 format, which began in 1984. This is the 17th edition.
India has beaten Pakistan in both matches in this edition, beating Pakistan, but left-armed sailor Shaheen was in a bullish mood after taking 3-28 against Sri Lanka.
“We’re here to win the Cup. Whichever team comes to the final, we’re ready to beat them,” Shaheen said ahead of India’s victory over Bangladesh.
If Pakistan reaches the final, India will start again as a strong favorite, winning 12 of the 15 T20s between the two countries.
India has also won the last seven internationals against Pakistan, four T20IS and three one-day internationals since September 2022.
The sequence urged Indian skipper Suryakumal Yadav to declare that India-Pakistan “is no longer a competition.”

“That’s his opinion. Let him say that,” said Shaheen, a cut comment from Suryakumar.
“Our job is to win the Asian Cup and we will put in full effort to do that.”
