Utah prosecutors exacerbated the murder on Tyler Robinson on Tuesday with the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray said he is seeking the death penalty in the case against Robinson. Robinson said he was charged with felony firearms, obstruction of justice, tampering with eyewitnesses and several other numbers.
“I have not downplayed this decision, it is a decision I made independently as a county lawyer based solely on the available evidence, circumstances and nature of the crime,” Gray said at a press conference.
Robinson of Washington, Utah, is expected to appear effectively to appear in the first courthouse at 5pm. He has been placed in jail without bail since his arrest Friday morning.

Gray said 22-year-old Robinson was identified as a suspect after his family confirmed him in surveillance images after his two married father Kirk was murdered last Wednesday at a crowded lecture event held at Utah Valley University in Orem.
“Robinson’s mother expressed concern to her husband that the suspect’s shooter looked like Robinson, and Robinson’s father agreed, Gray reads from a billing document she shared with CNBC on Tuesday.
Robinson’s father called his son. He “impressions that he was going to take his life” but agreed to meet his parents at home, those documents allege.
“When asked why he did that, Robinson explains that there is too much evil, and (Kirk) spreads too much hatred,” according to the document.
A family friend, a retired deputy sheriff, met with Robinson and his parents and convinced Robinson to hand over himself, documents show.
Robinson’s mother also told investigators, “Last year or so, my son was beginning to become more political, leaning towards the left, becoming more professional gay and right-oriented.”
She also told police at the time that Robinson “started dating his roommate, a biological man who is transitioning gender.”
The documents also detail the broad evidence that allegedly links Robinson to Kirk’s shooting. This allegedly coincided with Robinson with text messages between the suspect, his roommate and DNA.

Some messages contained romantic feelings, the documents show.
His roommate told police that on the day of the shooting, Robinson texted, “Drop what you’re doing. Look under my keyboard.”
My roommate looked and found a note saying, “I’ve got the opportunity to take Charlie Kirk out and I’m going to take it.”
After reading the notes, my roommate texted Robinson.
Robinson replied, “To be honest, I wanted to keep this secret until I passed away in old age. I’m sorry I had involved you.”
My roommate asked, “You weren’t the one who made it right????”
Robinson wrote back, “I’m sorry.”
When his roommate asked why Robinson did it, he replied, “I had enough of his hatred. Some hatred cannot be negotiated.”
Robinson also texted that he had planned a “more than a week” shooting, according to billing documents.
Then, after he escaped, he discussed dropping a firearm at university and texting his roommates.
He added: “I hope I’d turn backwards and grabbed it as soon as I got to the car. I’m worried about what the old man would do if I didn’t get my grandpa’s rifle back.”
Police found a suspected murder weapon, Bolt Action .30-06 rifle was located near the shooting location. Among them were multiple shell casings with etched inscriptions that appeared to refer to internet memes.

Gray was unclear whether Robinson had held the defense attorney.
Kirk’s death grabbed the country and produced a highly recharged response.
Many of Kirk’s friends and political allies feel intense sadness, and politicians across the aisle have announced strong condemnations of political violence.
But some, including President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vice President and Deputy Director Stephen Miller, have signaled plans to blame the “radical left” for the murder and crack down on groups that are in line with that ideological ideological state.
Others on the left, who criticized Kirk’s right-wing politics while he was alive, sparked anger from activist supporters after his death, and continued to do so.
