Waymo will partner with Uber to provide Robotaxi services to Atlanta and Austin.

Alphabet’s Waymo unit will launch test-operated Robotaxis at the first California-based airport, the company said Thursday.
A self-driving car unit was fired this fall at San Joseminateta International Airport in San Jose, California. Waymo said it plans to offer paid rides at the airport later this year.
“Along with San Jose, which is located at the epicenter of 2026’s biggest sporting event, Waymo is an ideal mode of transportation that helps visitors travel smoothly and safely through the area,” San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan said in a release.
According to the release, the vehicle will pick up passengers from the Ground Transport Center at Terminal A or B and deploy it to a location in the San Francisco Bay Service Area in Waymo.
When fully operational, it will be the second international airport for the company to serve.
In 2023, Waymo was launched at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It has become the most popular Waymo destination in Phoenix’s Metropolitan Service Area, a Waymo spokesperson said Thursday.
Waymo continues to expand unmanned riding services across the United States after already launching commercial operations in Austin, Texas, Atlanta, San Francisco, Phoenix and Los Angeles.
In March, Waymo expanded its services to include an additional 27 square miles of coverage around the San Francisco Bay Area, including Mountain View, Palo Alto and San Jose.
