Langton lost his grip during a horizontal bars routine and landed on his head and neck, receiving extensive medical treatment before being carried out of the arena on a stretcher.
“He is doing well and is very grateful for the many messages of support and the excellent care provided by the medical team. He is looking forward to reuniting with his team to celebrate his silver medal,” the statement said.
The incident cast a shadow over the rest of the competition in Glasgow, as England finished behind Canada for silver after their routine resumed. It was the first time since 2010 that England’s men’s team missed out on the team title.
Langton was absent from the medal ceremony, as teammates Luke Whitehouse, Alex Yorcin-Cash, Josh Nathan and Adam Tobin won the team’s silver medal.
The teenager was drafted into the team as a replacement for injured six-time Olympic medalist Max Whitlock.
