Text messages between D4vd and Celeste Rivas Hernandez have been revealed.
Messages revealed during a July 24 preliminary hearing in Los Angeles offer clues as to what happened between the singer (real name David Anthony Burke) and Rivas Hernandez before he allegedly murdered the singer in April 2025.
Prosecutors said documents showed the two began a sexual relationship in November 2023, when she was 13 and he was 18, and that Rivas-Hernandez became pregnant with his child within a few months, but ultimately aborted it.
According to NBC News, D4vd texted her in January 2024 saying, “I’m sorry again, I didn’t want you to go through this,” to which she replied, “No, it’s okay if we both can’t handle it.”
The Los Angeles Times quoted a prosecutor who attended the hearing as saying that when asked, “How many days will it be over?” she replied, “Two days.”
“Also, my mom always told me if I ever found myself in a situation like this, to ask this question…it’s mine, right?” he wrote. And she replied, “Of course, that’s you David.”
