At least four people were killed in airstrikes in multiple areas of Iran in the early hours of Friday, Iranian state media said. CNN cannot independently verify reports.
Locations reported to have been targeted include:
Khuzestan: The four reported deaths occurred in the west coast province of Khuzestan, where the governor said it was a US attack on the city of Ahvaz, Iranian Press TV reported. Several people were also injured, the report said.
IRNA reported that missile attacks also occurred in Khuzestan province, near the cities of Andimeshk and Omidye.
Markazi: A location on the outskirts of the city of Kondab in central Markazi province, about 250 miles from Iran’s capital Tehran, was hit by two projectiles, the province’s deputy governor announced, according to IRNA. According to the report, authorities are still investigating the circumstances of casualties and damage.
Lorestan Province: The deputy governor of central Lorestan province said a projectile hit a location in the city of Khoramabad, according to IRNA, adding that authorities were still investigating the damage and possible casualties.
Hormozgan: Two people were injured in an attack on the port city of Bandar Abbas, state broadcaster IRIB news agency reported.
