Rosie O’Donnell details how she gained 60 pounds weight loss and facelift changed her life
Rosie O’Donnell occasionally reflects on her new look.
The Emmy winner shared insight into how her recent weight loss and subsequent cosmetic surgery changed her life for the better.
“Munjaro changed my life,” O’Donnell told PEOPLE of her experience with the weight loss drug in an interview published July 21. “I couldn’t even pronounce it at first.”
But after undergoing a medical exam, the Now and Then actress – who is also mom to Parker, 31, Chelsea, 28, Blake, 26, and Vivienne, 23, with ex-wife Kelly Carpenter and 13-year-old Clay with late ex-wife Michelle Lowndes – realized it was time to take the reins when it came to her health.
“I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes three years ago and started treatment,” she recalls. “I was surprised at how quiet the food noise was. I’ve struggled with my weight all my life, and I know how shame and humiliation people feel when they’re overweight.”
“My kids would come home from trick-or-treating and hide their pillowcases full of candy,” she added. “Smart kids, wake up at three in the morning and say, ‘There’s a Nestle Crunch bar somewhere.'” I couldn’t help myself. ”
