Jim Cramer’s Top 10 Things to Watch in the Stock Market on Monday

My Top 10 Things to Watch for Monday, July 20th 1. This is a welcome sign. Stock futures are breaking out of the “Monday morning slide” pattern. The biggest gainer was the Nasdaq, benefiting from the strength of semiconductor stocks such as SK Hynix. WTI crude oil prices are stable this morning despite a weekend of heightened fighting in the Middle East. 2. There are a lot of stocks moving in this market, but to find them, you need to look beyond once-active tech, where trading has cooled. That was the crux of my Sunday column for Investing Club subscribers. 3. The echoes of Chinese startup Moonshot AI’s new model Kim K3 are still being felt. One of my biggest questions is: Would large American companies be comfortable switching to Kimi and feeding their data into a Chinese model? There is a consistent lack of trust between the US and China. 4. Bristol-Myers Squibb will purchase Nvidia’s latest enterprise AI computing system for use in drug discovery and development. Bristol-Myers said using older Nvidia hardware has already changed the research and development process. Now we have more horsepower available. Eli Lilly and Nvidia, the namesake of the club, are also collaborating on AI drug discovery. 5. Can SpaceX break out of its doldrums? Shares are up about 1% premarket. The company’s stock ended a six-day losing streak last week, trading 8% below its public offering price of $135 (and nearly 40% below its record closing price on June 16). Surprisingly, the decline appears to be orderly. Short selling pressure is also having an impact. After canceling a Starship test flight last week, SpaceX plans to try again this Thursday night. 6. Barclays raised its price target on hedge fund favorite Astera Labs from $200 to $325. Maintained buy rating. Analysts say spending from Amazon alone could generate more than $3 billion in revenue for Astera, a fast-growing company with connectivity technology for AI computing. Astera works closely with Nvidia. 7. UBS maintained its rating on Honeywell Aerospace and initiated coverage with a price target of $231, citing slowing aftermarket growth. The aftermarket consists of products and services needed after the initial sale of an aircraft, such as runway safety technology. The driving force behind big profits. Aeromexico announced this morning that it will introduce HONA Collision Prevention Surface Alert to its Boeing aircraft. 8. Wells Fargo lowered Accenture’s price target from $200 to $194, but maintained its Buy rating. Heaven forbid anyone lower the rating of this work. Analysts slightly raised their full-year earnings forecasts after the consultancy recently raised $5 billion in debt and suggested a $2 billion share buyback would be completed by the fourth quarter. 9. Yeti was upgraded from buy to buy at Goldman Sachs, and the price target was raised from $46 to $63. Analysts said channel checks showed the company’s growth prospects were “becoming more sustainable.” But they also mentioned inventory constraints and replenishment plans. It’s been an unforgettable few years for this stock. 10. Citi analysts raised their price target on PNC Financial from $280 to $290 and maintained a buy rating. PNC is a timeless neighborhood. Last Wednesday, PNC reported better-than-expected earnings and earnings for its second quarter. Citi, like other companies, liked what it said. A number of other analysts raised their price targets last week.
