Sean Hatosy is ready to do double duty in the ER.
Following The Pit’s huge success with fans, the actor, who plays Dr. Jack Abbott on the HBO Max medical drama, has revealed whether he plans to star in a TV spinoff about the night staff at a fictional Pittsburgh hospital.
“People talk a lot about night shifts,” Hatoshi told People magazine in an April 3 interview. “That would be really cool. It could be something cool and interesting with the tone of the show.”
In fact, the Emmy winner believes that diving into the world of nighttime emergencies will provide fans with a wide range of new areas of patient problems and out-of-the-box injuries.
“Dr. Abbott chose the night shift because it’s kind of a group of sociopaths who work together at night,” Hatosy said.
For now, fans will continue to see Dr. Abbott working overtime at the beginning and end of rotations to help out a team of daytime doctors, including Dr. Robbie (Noah Wyle), Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball), Dr. Al Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi), and Charge Nurse Evans (Catherine LaNasa).
