“He wasn’t always faithful to me,” French wrote in her memoir, noting that her ex-husband admitted to having been unfaithful in the past, ahead of their 2021 divorce.
And she admitted that’s not at all easy to understand, considering Gates’ name appears in the newly released Epstein files. (Gates previously mentioned his relationship Epstein was indicted in 2019 after the convicted sex offender died while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. )
“For me, it’s personally painful for these details to come out,” French told NPR. wild card “Because it brings back memories of a very, very painful time in our marriage,” she said earlier this month.
Despite this, the 61-year-old stressed that she has “moved on.”
“I intentionally pushed it away and moved on,” she explained. “I’m in a really unexpected and beautiful place in my life, so whatever questions there are – I can’t even begin to know all of them – those questions are for those people, and even my ex-husband. They need to answer them, not me.”
