Ebelesi Eze has once again reignited Arsenal’s title ambitions in English football’s Premier League by becoming Tottenham’s enemy.

Three months after scoring a hat-trick against Spurs, the England midfielder scored two more goals in a 4-1 win away to Arsenal’s fiercest rivals on Sunday. Victor Gokeres was also the leader, scoring two goals.

Eze was close to joining Tottenham in the summer, but his boyhood club Arsenal reportedly signed him for £60 million ($80 million) instead. Spurs are struggling even more now – his only goal since early November came against Spurs.

Arsenal bounced back from two consecutive draws to put second-placed Manchester City back in the title race.

The Gunners have regained a five-point lead, but City still have a game in hand and must host Mikel Arteta’s side in a league game in mid-April. The two sides will also face each other in the English League Cup final on March 22nd.

Igor Tudor had a difficult start to his career as Tottenham manager. He had a habit of performing well early in his tenure at his former club.

However, that is not the case this time. Tottenham equalized two minutes after allowing Eze the lead, but in the 34th minute, Randall Kolo Muani saved Declan Rice for a 1-1 goal.

Gokeres made it 2-1 in the 47th minute with a shot from the edge of the area, and Eze extended their lead in the 61st minute with a rebound after Bukayo Saka’s shot was saved. Gokeres scored again in stoppage time.

Arsenal have 10 league games left in their bid to win their first top-flight title since 2004.

Eze has scored six goals in the league this season, five of which came against Spurs. Asked why he holds that record against his rivals, he told Sky Sports: “I don’t know. I try to score every game and it seems to work pretty well against Tottenham. That’s something everyone can feel.”

Elsewhere in the Premier League on Sunday, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister scored the winning goal in stoppage time to seal a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

After 90 minutes with few shots on target, Mac Allister lit the fuse with a stoppage-time shot, which was ruled out for handball, but he grabbed the rebound in the 97th minute to snatch victory.

Meanwhile, doubts swirled over the future of Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, as his side secured a 1-0 victory over bottom-placed Wolverhampton thanks to a last-minute goal.

Evan Guesand came on as a substitute and slotted home a far-post finish.

Fulham became the second visiting team to win at the Stadium of Light this season, moving them above Sunderland into the top half of the table.

Raul Jimenez’s double gave Marco Silva’s team a 3-1 victory.
