Manny Pacquiao has announced that he will face former junior welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodnikov on April 18th in Las Vegas, marking his second fight since returning from a four-year retirement last year.
The 47-year-old last fought in July, ending a long hiatus with a majority draw against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.

“Whenever I fight, I carry the Philippines with me. The support from my fans in my home country and around the world continues to inspire me,” Pacquiao said in a statement released by the fight’s promoter on Wednesday.
The match will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center, which hosted a number of notable matches in the 1990s before the construction of MGM Grand Garden Arena and later T-Mobile Arena, which became Las Vegas’ primary home for top matches.
“Coming back to Las Vegas means a lot to me and I’m excited to work with a team focused on providing a world-class experience for our fans. I’ll be back to give our fans a great fight and I’m ready.”
Pacquiao initially retired in 2021, but resumed his career last year. Away from the ring, he served as a Philippine senator from 2016 to 2022 and ran unsuccessfully for the 2022 presidential election.
The first boxer to accomplish this feat, the eight-division world champion also became the oldest welterweight world champion at the age of 40 in 2019. His professional record is 73 fights, 62 wins, 8 losses, and 3 draws.
He was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2025.
