Tottenham sacked their Danish manager after a tough run of eight games without a win, leaving them in 16th place.

Tottenham Hotspur announced on Wednesday that they had sacked manager Thomas Frank after eight months in charge, after the north London club’s dismal performance left them five points above the relegation zone.
The pressure is mounting on Franck, who lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle United on Tuesday, leaving him 16th in the table with 29 points from 26 games and looking set to move into the relegation zone.

Spurs said in a statement: “Thomas will be appointed in June 2025 and we are determined to give him the time and support he needs to build a future together.”
“However, the results and performance have led the board to conclude that changes are necessary at this point in the season.”
Frank, who joined Brentford in 2018 and established himself as a top-flight club following promotion, has struggled to replicate his methods at last season’s Europa League winners Tottenham.
The writing seemed to be against the wall for the 52-year-old after Tuesday’s 11th league defeat to Newcastle United.
With jeers ringing around the club’s stadium and chants of “He’s sacked in the morning” aimed at Frank, supporters left no doubt about their feelings.
It was Tottenham’s seventh home defeat in the Premier League this season, but they have only won two of their 13 league games in front of fans.
On Tuesday, Tottenham supporters also sang the name of former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who led Tottenham to the 2019 Champions League final. The Argentine is currently the coach of the United States men’s national team.
