Jacob Elordi’s experience with Wuthering Heights wasn’t exactly a happy one.
In fact, the actor who plays the film’s anti-hero Heathcliff had to be hospitalized for a short period during the early stages of filming the film, which is based on Emily Bronte’s novel.
“Make-up artist Sian Miller was designing the whipping scar on Heathcliff’s back. She said to me, ‘If Daniel Day-Lewis had played Heathcliff, he would have come out with a scar,'” Jacob told director Emerald Fennell in an interview with Esquire on January 30th. I’m Heathcliff! ”
And while the idea of using “The Method” was a joke, Jacob ended up getting injured off-camera.
“When I got home that night, the house I was staying in had a steam shower. It was a brass knob that let the steam come out of the wall,” he said. “I was sitting on the shower floor…as Heathcliff, covered in mange and dirt, and I thought, ‘I’m not going to do that again, I’m going to clean my feet every night and come to work fresh the next day.'”
