And the milestone of the Grammy Awards…
The 2026 Grammy nominations were announced by the Recording Academy in November, but several artists have already won big awards ahead of the ceremony.
Take Kendrick Lamar, for example. With his Album of the Year nomination for GNX, he became the first rapper to receive five nominations in this category as a lead artist. Additionally, he is the first solo artist to have five consecutive studio albums nominated for this award.
Kendrick, who topped the nominations list with nine total nominations, made Grammy history in another way, becoming the first to have three albums nominated for both Best Rap Album and Album of the Year. Joining GNX in that feat are Clipse, Pusha T & Malice’s Let God Sort Em Out, and Tyler, The Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA.
Additionally, with Rosé and Bruno Mars’ song “APT.” nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, the Blackpink singer became the first K-pop artist to be nominated as a main performer in one of the top four Grammy Awards, which also includes Album of the Year and Best New Artist.
