Timothy Busfield is facing legal trouble.

The West Wing alum has turned himself in to authorities in New Mexico, Albuquerque police confirmed to E! News on January 13, days after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of criminal sexual contact with twin 11-year-old boys.

Before turning himself in to authorities, Busfield proclaimed his innocence and explained that he intended to “fight” the charges.

In a video published by TMZ on Jan. 13, he said, “Those are horrible. They’re all lies and I didn’t do anything to those two boys.”

The 68-year-old said he would fight the charges “with a great team”, adding: “I will be found not guilty, I know I am not guilty, because this is all so wrong.”

Eh! The News reached out to Busfield’s personal attorney for comment, but did not receive a response.

The investigation into Busfield, who is married to actress Melissa Gilbert, began in November 2024 after a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) reported suspected sexual abuse to police, according to a Jan. 9 warrant obtained by E. News, the case did not meet authorities’ acceptance criteria at the time.
