Rob Reiner’s son Nick Reiner arrested in connection with director and Michelle Reiner’s deaths
Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner’s death is at the center of a police investigation.
The When Harry Met Sally director and his wife of 36 years were found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 14th, and sources told NBC News that the couple appeared to have suffered stab wounds.
The gruesome discovery led responding officers to determine that Reiner and the others were “victims of murder,” according to a Los Angeles Police Department press release issued on December 15th.
“The investigation further revealed that Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Robert and Michele Reiner, was responsible for their deaths,” authorities continued in the statement. “He was arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail.”
What about the events leading up to Nick’s arrest? The screenwriter appears to have clashed with Rob, 78, the day before he was taken into custody. The father-son duo got into an argument at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party on Dec. 13, multiple sources told People.
Friends of the family also confirmed the controversy, telling the Los Angeles Times that attendees at the party noticed that Nick (whom Michelle shares with Rob and children Jake Reiner, 34, and Romy Reiner, 27) was acting strange.
