When it comes to hair care and styling, no one can give you better advice than celebrity hairstylist and brand founder Jen Atkin.
Jen, the brains behind Oai and Mane, is the only person you need to listen to for holiday hairstyling tips. She spilled her professional hair secrets exclusively to E! while in residence at Miami Art Week in partnership with Capital One Venture X Business.
If you want your hairstyle to last, Jen has some professional advice. “It’s best to start with clean, dry hair. If your hair is oily, apply a little dry shampoo before curling. And I like to spray my hair with a light veil of hairspray, brush it through with a boar bristle brush, then pick up the hot tools.”
Don’t want to go hot-tooled? Jen also likes to add fancy hair accessories to her half-up styles or keep it simple with a sophisticated bun or pony that’s easy and always chic. “Winter is always stressful, so don’t be shy about wearing fancy buns,” she says.
Naturally, celebrity hairstylists are giving away the perfect hair this holiday season. She chooses anything that will make her look attractive on the go. Ouai and Mane gift sets are both Jen-approved options, whether you choose a body care kit or a hair care bundle, and she says she plans on gifting again this year.
Jen likes to keep her approach to gifting simple and straightforward. “I’m really organized. I have a lot of paperwork, and I have a lot of people to shop with, so I just think I’ll get some good perks with the Capital One Venture X Business card,” she explains. “It’s like holiday shopping without the guilt.”
